Two masks (poem)
Emilie autumn
Two masks (poem)Two masks
One a princess one a witch
Both ridiculous and painted and blind
My eyes
Would fill the empty spaces
And bring about a total transformation
Artifice is the true realism
Deceit lives in the flesh
And will not show its face to any man
But give us a mask
And we will tell you the truth
I could not choose
So I will wear them both
The witch next to my skin
The princess next to yours
Which will you see first?
One a princess one a witch
Both ridiculous and painted and blind
My eyes
Would fill the empty spaces
And bring about a total transformation
Artifice is the true realism
Deceit lives in the flesh
And will not show its face to any man
But give us a mask
And we will tell you the truth
I could not choose
So I will wear them both
The witch next to my skin
The princess next to yours
Which will you see first?
Duas máscaras (poema)Duas máscaras
Uma de princesa, uma de bruxa
Ambas ridículas e pintadas e cegas
Meus olhos
Poderiam preencher os espaços vazios
E trazer uma total transformação
Estratégia é a verdade real
Engano mora na carne
E não irá mostrar sua face para qualquer homem
Mas nos dê a máscara
E nós iremos contar-te a verdade
Eu poderia não ter escolhido
Então eu não as usaria
A bruxa perto da minha pele
A princesa perto da sua
Qual você irá ver primeiro?
Uma de princesa, uma de bruxa
Ambas ridículas e pintadas e cegas
Meus olhos
Poderiam preencher os espaços vazios
E trazer uma total transformação
Estratégia é a verdade real
Engano mora na carne
E não irá mostrar sua face para qualquer homem
Mas nos dê a máscara
E nós iremos contar-te a verdade
Eu poderia não ter escolhido
Então eu não as usaria
A bruxa perto da minha pele
A princesa perto da sua
Qual você irá ver primeiro?
