The edge of the map

When I was a child,
I got lost in the woods
With my father.
Our best guesses failed
We wound up on a trail
With no markers.

My little lamb,

Sometimes go astray.
Sometimes the land
Don't come with maps
To guide our way.

It leads me to where I am.
