Defamer

Maelstrom

Defamer
In the calm, before the maelstrom, the mirror revealed my twin and on his face was manifest the fear I knew within. It had seemed like an eon, an eternity of pain, I'd stared into those cold dead eyes slowly becoming insane. At the break of dawn I cracked fled out into the cold. I sought the calm, morning air to soothe my tormented soul.

Serenity shot dead.
Sudden turbulent vision.
Perched upon a twisted branch a hideous apparition.

The lashing of it's bastard tongue burnt words into my mind. A tome destroyed millennia past: Instantaneous Catastrophica Divine. The creature's profound instruction unholy, detailed, clear synonymous with my destiny - an imminent terminus near.

I wandered, endlessly, down a path. The sun had long withdrawn. My only companions unearthly beasts black, broken and horned. The incandescence of a lightning strike revealed a tainted clearing. The horrors of the night could not prepare me for the scene that waited therein. There loomed a mound of carrion and, on the corpses, creatures feasted themselves sick. Their vomit burning a symbol of the earth defeated into the stained, corrupted ground: encircling a sacrificial chalice of blood red gore. I approached and drank deeply.

As I devoured Minerva, I became one with war. I became one with all becoming nothing. I became one with the storm. Spreading mayhem, divine tempest incarnate, I fall host to the insane one. (They're) running naked despoiled lifeless impotent. I fall host to an insane god. (I'm) drawing the eye of the maelstrom.
