Ethereal collapse

On the reins of desire

Ethereal collapse
The sky breathed forth an impeccable light
Its brilliance cloaked a poisonous delight
With fleeting splendor, her grandeur was unleashed
And solitude's walls were inexorably breached
Of consummate nature I perceived this to be
Nonpareil in both mind and body
On the reins of Desire, I ventured in
Only to watch my pain and sorrow begin

Elysium I sought, and seemingly found
In an immaculate being I could not expound
A dazzling visage stood before my eyes
But its elegance exuded a fortune of lies

Her lips laced with poison beckoned seductively
Set to begin a romantic tragedy
Closer I drew, like a moth to the flame
Only a pawn in a dangerous game
The soldier of Judgement I did not enlist
Slaking my thirst with a pestilent kiss
There she stood, fallen from grace
And I tore the veil from her treacherous face

Fair Prudence collapsed by her sinful allure
And the ultimate sorrow did I endure
This is the curse of all men who dream
They realize not that things aren't as they seem
