Misnomer

Bittersweet

Misnomer
you're too ludicrously calm
for a morning like this
when the ceiling hangs
from both my eyelids
and you smile
as if there's heaven
in the coffee that you sip
and hum a little tune
as you gently sway your hips
and i'm filled with bittersweet
had a vision of you
the way you seem to swim
as i barely just scrape through
my body burns
but only in your bliss
the efforts to breathe you in
have all but come to this
frustration and awe
in equal amounts
the need to suck then spit
your tongue out
your hand moulds around my face
and i lean into your palm
and i know for all the world
i could never do you harm
but bittersweet
is bittersweet
and that
is how i feel
the virtues of a sinner
are all
i offer you
but bittersweet
is bittersweet
and that
is how i feel
the virtues of a sinner
are all
i offer you
