If there really is a god

Robert murdock
If there really is a god high up in heaven, he'd be looking down upon us and he'd see, all the hurt and all the anger that tears this world apart. If there really is a god this would not be. If there really is a god please speak to me...
As i peer through stained glass windows, i think of words i wanna say. But how can simple words convey life in a complex world today? Can you help me make these troubles go away?
I once believed in this great country. I used to trust my fellow man. But a 'rain' of terror washed away the innocence of yesterday. How you let this happen,i can't understand.
If there really is a god high up in heaven, he'd be looking down upon us and he'd see all the fear and the frustration that tears this world apart. If there really is a god this would not be. If there really is a god, i pray to thee.
I'm seeking divine intervention 'cause i need to know you're somewhere in our midst. Sometimes i look around and see a world of hate and misery and i wonder if you really do exist.
[chorus]
Did you really walk on water, did you part the sea, and did you turn the water into wine? 'Cause lately miracles are few and far between. If you're out there and you hear me, god, give me a sign, some kind of sign.
We're committing sins against each other, but your followers say theirs are not the same. They preach it's wrong aborting life, so shoot the butcher and his wife. Christ, they're justified by killing in your name.

If there really is a god high up in heaven. He'd be looking down upon us and he'd see that i can't believe in contradiction 'cause it rips my world apart. If there really is a god this would not be. If there really is a god, my heart, it would not bleed. If there really is a god please pray for me...
