This one’s too close
That one’s too far
But when it’s just right
I can be their star
And so it goes
With these so and so’s
They sputter and spin
To stay in
My goldilocks zone

How can it be
These stones I keep
Fell in so perfectly
To watch me sleep?

Their trembling empires
Crumble beneath my gaze
